Self Harm *trigger warning*

I posted this on fakebook, but they deemed it unsuitable and removed it. Whilst I understand, how do we speak out about mental health when people pick and chose what is suitable, how can we speak out about mental health when its seen as something people are not allowed to see, so it gets censored? The image in question, the one below, spoken with with the mum, about the content, the editing, her approval sought before posting, it was an image that shows a side of mental health that is so real, yet one that apparently has to remain hidden, a stigma, a fear. When shooting this image, even my husband had to walk away, yes its graphic, yes its hard to see, but this is real, this is reality, this is mental health people don't see, or chose to just ignore.
**all marks and scars are edited in after in photoshop, no sharp blades etc where used during this image creation
